Church Planter

Permanent Full Time

Church planting can be the most fulfilling and yet the hardest task, so at Hope Bible Church Kelowna we use a church planting philosophy of ‘Campus to Plant’.

What this means is that we:

  • desire you to come on staff, be apart of the current Ministry Teams,
    occasionally sit at the Elder table, and be a part of the life of the church, so as
    to catch our vision, mission, values, and core beliefs.

  • will provide spiritual, technical, and financial support from Hope Bible Church
    Kelowna.

  • want to free you up to be, dependently on the Lord, developing a core group,
    discipling ministry teams, and bearing witness of Jesus Christ to the community
    we desire to plant in.

With that, you:

  • desire to study and learn the current culture, values, and philosophy of ministry at
    Hope. We often tell people it is tough to explain and ask them to spend some
    time with us, to further understand how we function and live out biblical precepts.

  • will bring energy and enthusiasm and be able to successfully communicate
    Hope’s vision so that people will commit spiritually, physically, and financially to
    being a partner in this church plant.

  • desire to, dependently on the Lord, develop a core group, disciple ministry
    teams, and bear witness of Jesus Christ to the community we desire to plant in.

As part of the preparation and training for this role, you will also undergo a church planter assessment and Church Planter Training as provided by the Great Commission Collective.

 

It is imperative that through prayer and much soul searching, you believe that God is leading you down the path to this challenge and that you have full spousal support to take on this endeavor.

Internship

Temporary Full Time

Our desire in this role is to provide you with a real life ministry experience that allows
you (and us) to learn and grow under the leadership and direction of staff, elders,
leaders, and volunteers who have ministry experience in their fields.

More specifically, this will be a mutually beneficial as you:

  • provide value-added support to Pastoral staff, Elders, Ministry & Team Leaders
    in meeting the Ministry Plan of Hope Bible Church Kelowna

  • broadly engage with people and activities will be used for you to contribute ideas
    and insights within staff, Elder, and ministry team discussions

  • build relationships within the church body with the intent of being discipled and/or
    being discipled

  • inform, train, teach, and equip others

Director of Worship & Discipleship

Permanent Full Time

The Director of Worship and Discipleship will oversee all aspects of the Worship Team ministry, including spiritual growth of the team members, musical worship, technical production, and weekend equipment set-up and tear down, as well as collaborate with our Director of Discipleship in shepherding people along in our 5G Life Discipleship Model.  The time allotment between Worship and Discipleship is expected to be respectively 70% / 30%.

This is a unique opportunity, to serve alongside the Lead Pastor, Director of Discipleship, Elders, Group Leaders, and entire body of Christ at Hope Bible Church Kelowna to plant healthy churches that are boldly proclaiming God’s Word, passionate about worshipping Jesus, purposeful in discipleship, dependent on fervent prayer, and actively on mission.

Director of Operations & Admin

Purpose:

Hope Bible Church is an active part of the Great Commission Collective in the Okanagan Valley British Columbia, with
a mission to plant healthy churches that are boldly proclaiming God’s Word, passionate about worshipping Jesus,
purposeful in discipleship, dependent on fervent prayer, and actively on mission.

Our staff is a team of people living in a growing relationship with Christ, who have come to understand the DNA and
functioning of Hope Bible Church and have a familiarity and aptitude for the part they play in glorifying God through
the fulfillment of the Great Commission in the spirit of the Great Commandment. (Matthew 28:19-20 | Matthew 22:37-
39).

The Director of Operations & Administration is responsible for the overall leadership and direction of church staff, high
level leading of all functional areas to accomplish the church’s mission. This includes outreach, arts, pastoral care, groups,
student and children’s ministry areas, strategic planning, finance, administration, human resources, and operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Essential Job Functions are to:

  • Support the Senior Pastor in accomplishing the church’s mission through ministry prayer, biblical principles,
    effectiveness evaluation, discernment, decision-making, planning, and overall direction of the church staff.

  • Lead the ministry staff in the establishment and ongoing direction of ministries that effectively reach the
    community, ensuring the accomplishment of the overall mission.

  • Ensure the operational readiness of the church through leadership and oversight of the support staff performing
    administrative duties, finance, human resources, supply, and facilities management.

  • Facilitate the annual strategic planning process, including evaluation of ministry performance; review of mission,
    vision, and core values; develop key objectives and tactics; and establish three-year goals.

  • Establish and maintain a set of key performance measures (KPMs) that provide the Senior Pastor, Elders, and church
    staff with ongoing visibility of the effectiveness of all functional areas of the church.

  • Develop annual financial plans that fund the accomplishment of the strategic plan and meet critical financial
    objectives such as established cash reserve levels.

  • Lead church Campus to Plant efforts, including developing a strategy, networking for the provision of needed
    resources, and identification, development, and leadership of lead church planters.

  • Champion the development of infrastructure by all ministries and support areas that support the healthy, long-term
    growth of the church.

  • Lead the church’s building programs, including capital fundraising campaigns, master planning, design and
    architecture, contractor selection, and construction.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

This position requires:

  • A comprehensive understanding of the ‘second chair’ role

  • ‘Chemistry’ with the Senior Pastor, Elders, Staff, and Leaders

  • A proven track record of effective leadership, judgment, and above-reproach character.

The following is an asset but not required:

  • Experience as a senior leader in a corporate business environment

  • Education (Diploma / Degree) in Business, Technology, or another related field

  • Education (Diploma / Degree) in Biblical studies

Director of Communications & Technology

Purpose:

Hope Bible Church is an active part of the Great Commission Collective in the Okanagan Valley British Columbia,

Jesus, purposeful in discipleship, dependent on fervent prayer, and actively on mission.

Our staff is a team of people living in a growing relationship with Christ, who have come to understand the DNA
and functioning of Hope Bible Church and have a familiarity and aptitude for the part they play in glorifying God
through the fulfillment of the Great Commission in the spirit of the Great Commandment. (Matthew 28:19-20 |
Matthew 22:37-39).

Aside from a growing relationship with Christ, understanding of the DNA and functioning of Hope Bible Church
Kelowna, and a familiarity and aptitude of computers, audio, video, graphic media, and related technology your
duties shall include the following:

Key Responsibilities:

Graphics & Communications

  • Brainstorm, Create, and Design logos, visuals, graphics, posts, and slides for effective communication in
    services, events and online presence in both social media and website.

  • Manage and update the website, social media (Facebook & Instagram), and Planning Center with accurate
    and relevant information based on the church calendar and messaging.

  • Communication with Band, Sound, Video, and Graphic teams using email, Telegram, Planning Center, and
    google docs.

  • Manage Schedule, using Planning Center and communicating with Leaders of for the Band, Sound, Video,
    and Graphics to ensuring adequate volunteer coverage.

  • Volunteer engagement

    • with a priority focus of care for our leaders and supporting the ministry in a simple way (ie we
      want to get to know them and what’s going on in their life AND engage people to serve as simply as
      possible)​

    • to equip and train Band, Sound, Video, and Graphics leaders and volunteers so they may be able to
      more fully exercise their God given gifts and abilities.

Sunday Morning

  • Volunteer engagement

    • with a priority focus of care for our leaders and supporting the ministry in a simple way (ie we
      want them to be known and encouraged)​

    • to equip and train leaders and volunteers so that serving enables them to exercise their God given
      gifts and abilities.

  • ‘Quarterback of service production

    • Manage Schedule, using Planning Center to ensure adequate coverage with Tech Teams, Worship
      Teams, Scripture Reading, and Announcements. Communicating with the Preacher.​

    • Ensure adequate and consistent Communication with Worship, Sound, Video, and Graphic teams
      using email, Telegram, Planning Center, and google docs.'

    • Leaning on the resource of knowledgeable volunteers to ensure quality, consistent, and seamless
      flow of Sunday morning services. Be available to trouble shoot, make calls/decisions, and see the
      service continue no matter what from a sound, video, and pro perspective. Know who to contact for
      support and who to consult for increasing quality.

Other

  • Suggesting, recommending, and implementing efficiency gains as identified and approved

  • Assessing and managing various aspects of technology at the office and other ministries

  • Other Duties as assigned
